You're welcomed in, a beautiful mansion, together with others like you and others who have walked some versions of the path you'll be on.
In the pursuit of unveiling what feels true to your soul, you are exposed to the most interesting personal stories, you build things you care about, you are taught how to develop your humanity and how to share it and receive it from others, and you are guided on the most non deterministic questions that you'll encounter.
Some will become artists, some will build companies, some will initiate communities, some will discover new science, others will tap into combinations of categories that do not exist yet.
What you will do, you'll discover on the go.
And when you're ready to begin your life's work, we'll be there from the start no questions asked - because we will have seen the entire journey from within.
Not a high school, not a university, not an accelerator, not a fund.
The world needs this Illegible Institution, whatever shape it'll have.
The Master Plan
Phase 1. In the next 5 years, we'll tell 520 stories of some of the most amazing builders under21 around the world. We believe age proximity to upcoming greatness matters way more than seeing established success stories.
Phase 2. We'll reward acts of creations that were done outside of structured paths through grants with no strings attached. The 19yo building robotic hands in his room, the 16yo writing a novel, the 17yo releasing music. The world needs more builders, creators, and producers than consumers. We believe grants are an important philosophical token of trust, and an underestimated social tool to normalize creation.
Phase 3. We'll gather these talents together in pop-up experiences around the world. We call these Illegible Colleges experiments. We believe physical proximity is the catalyst of change, we're humans after all.
Phase 4. On top of the talent institution we'll build a new kind of fund at the intersection of meaning and funding. We believe vertical integration of talent development and funding is not only useful to make the Institution sustainable, but necessary for the world to thrive. We want to form the greatest human individuals of the next generation, and we want to set them up to win.
Phase is used for lack of a better word, we are already combining elements from each on a weekly basis.
